“Remember Our Reconciliation to God” - March 14, 2010 4th Sunday in Lent - March 14, 2010 Bishop Ricardo M. Alcaraz "Grace be to God, according to the Word of the Lord, even though sometimes, we become unfaithful, God never forgets to be faithful to us. He always gives us an opportunity to come back to Him, to be reconciled unto Him. That brings us basically to our message today which is: let us respond to the grace of God by being reconciled to Him and to each other. As we go to our gospel in Luke 15:11-32, there are two thoughts that I want to share with you. The first thought is from verses 11-24: it is the heart of the Father to restore us when we have fallen. The second thought is from verses 25:-32: it is the heart of the Father for us to be gracious to others. "

"Remember Our Deliverance in God" 3rd Sunday In Lent - March 7, 2010 Archbishop Loren Thomas Hines D. D. We see the evidence of redemption given to us - the fulfilling of God’s Word in our behalf. But then the question comes: what is our response to this redemption? Do we do our best to live out a life of righteousness? Do we live a life of selflessness? Concern for the needs of others? Do we see ourselves reaching out as Christ reached out to us? Even though we were involved in destroying Him, He still forgave us. He pleaded to the Father in our behalf, “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” He stood as an Intercessor. He stood as the plea between that which could have brought destruction to us. He gave His life, and He gave us new life…What are we doing with the new life that He gave us? Are we still living in the murmuring and the complaining? Are we still like Israel in the wilderness, craving evil things, acting immorally, trying God in every way we can, doing our own thing rather than being obedient to Him?...Or do we see ourselves blessed? Do we see ourselves with thanksgiving because God has given to us new life? Even though we are not perfect in it yet, are we on that journey that we are changing from glory to glory? Do we see ourselves walking with Him and manifesting the gifts that He has brought into our lives?”
