Birth is a Phenomenon
by Virna Dalisay
Birth is a phenomenon, a miracle, intended by God to bring forth life in this world. No one can really explain the mystery of birth. Medically, the doctors will explain how the reproduction develops and how birth happens, but witnessing it is a different story.
The world today relies only on what the doctor says. If the doctor says you can’t bear a child, you will believe it. Instead of hoping, you get discouraged and find an option to just live life without children. No matter what the world will say, it is only God who decides what will happen in our lives. We are created to multiply and fill the earth. Nobody can tell you that you can’t bear an offspring, for God Himself commanded man to multiply.
Since I joined the Birthing Ministry, my fourth assisted delivery was the time I witnessed God’s divine mercy. The mother told me how they waited patiently for almost 2 years for her to conceive. Witnessing her delivery was different from what I usually see in the hospital setting. In her case, the baby has double cord wrapped around his neck. His color was kind of bluish. Sister Chato, who is the instrument of God to help the mother deliver, had to clamp the cord and cut it right away to promote airway breathing for the baby because it was too short. If she was not able to cut it right away and insisted to let the mother push, both the mother and the baby will be in a very critical condition.
Medically, if the mother continues to push, the baby can die from strangulation and the mother’s cord will prolapse that will cause massive bleeding resulting to postpartum hemorrhage. The mother will be at risk of hypovolemic shock or a sudden death due to massive bleeding.
Everybody who was there during the delivery prayed in tongues spontaneously. We didn’t fear and didn’t think of the negative things that can happen. We only believed! We put our faith in God who can do all things. God is good! The baby boy turned pink and cried and all was well with the baby.
Now, it’s time for the placenta to be delivered. As Sister Chato was waiting for the placenta cord to lengthen, she noticed that the bleeding from the mother’s birth opening was continuous. She asked me to prepare some ice pack for it after delivering the placenta. As the placenta was delivered, a sudden volume of blood gushed out from her opening. Normally after delivery, a mother bleeds but not massive. Again, we all praised God. We prayed in tongues and we all believed and put our faith in Him.
God gave Sister Chato the wisdom to do what is needed to be done. We kept on talking to the mother asking her to stay awake. The moment she spoke this while smiling, “I’m not going anywhere. My baby needs me. I will not die now that my baby is here,” it was the time the bleeding was controlled. All was well with the mother and the baby!
God is good! He displays His greatness through this experience. If you are walking astray, this is how He leads you to the right path again and will say, “Come to Me. Trust Me.” Through this critical moment that God is showing His mercy, do not be afraid. Through this instance, God is waking you up, “I am your God. I will not leave you.”
No clinic can rely to Someone like Him for they only rely scientifically to the doctors. No hospital can replace the procedures being done in this Birthing Clinic for they only follow what the textbooks are saying. No one can criticize what we do for God is our Physician here. We only follow His protocol which is evangelizing and worshiping Him. No one, not even an institution, can say that we are not right for God is right and we are just simply following Him.
It is time for the world to change its perception about child birth. The Birthing Clinic will be here to change that. It will reveal to the world that God is greater than man!
To God be the Glory!
