Cathedral Services

Christ is always present in His church, especially in her sacrament actions. It is the source from which all her vitality flows; for the symbols of the sacraments provide the place where Christ and the faithful meet, and it is this meeting that gives meaning to all that is in the Church.  Through the sacraments, the saving action of God in Christ becomes effective in the Church.

The role of the Cathedral Services is to support the Archbishop in making the necessary coordination and arrangement so that the Church, the recipient of the grace of God, may receive the Sacraments prepared and with faith as they walk this life’s journey with Christ through the Sacraments.

The Eucharistic Community of the Faithful, through their Area Deacons, coordinates with the Cathedral Services to make available, as needed, the Sacraments needed for the members of their communities.  Cathedral Services provides the guidelines, the procedures, and the requirements in availing the Sacraments and other services that it offers:

Baptism

• Infant and Adult Baptism classes are offered

Confirmation

• Candidates undergo Catechism Classes which is offered before Pentecost Sunday

Holy Matrimony

• Pre-Marriage Classes are offered twice a year

Sacrament of Reconciliation

• Confession can be requested through this office

Holy Unction

• Ministry to the Sick through the anointing of the oil is given upon request made through this office.  If needed, the administration of the Eucharist is made available.

Funeral

• Funeral rites and services are coordinated by the Area Deacon and with the assistance of the Community Father

Blessing of Pregnant Mothers

• The blessing of pregnant mothers by the Bishop is an act of giving thanks of the family, with the community joining them as they take on a new responsibility of nurturing a child in the ways of God.

Blessing of Homes, Offices, Businesses and Others

• This is made available through coordination with this office.
