Youth Christmas Party

“On the tenth day of Christmas my True Love gave to me, ten lords-a-leaping…”

 The youth gathered at the sanctuary and sung to the tune of the carol. After which, Dcn. Dexter, presider for the vesper, greeted us with a “Merry Christmas!” (hey, it’s still Christmas after all. J)

 During the reflection, a skit was presented wherein some of the youth were involved in.

We learned that we should not allow the things around us to affect who were are and that sometimes, in order to fulfill God’s purpose in our lives, we should be willing to sacrifice and leave our “comfort zone” to be able to minister to others.

 After the vespers, everyone gathered at the Jorvina Hall for the Christmas Party where the youth had fun and fellowshipped with each other. The men wore their masks while the ladies showed off their headdresses.

      The DJ set the mood for the night by playing some party music. Everyone was having fun, some even danced to the beat of the music. The hosts for the night were Sam Danan and Mae Catanghal. The party started with a little ice breaker of “Ang Pinaka….”

Then followed by exciting and “extreme” games like the every-famous “Pinoy Henyo,” “Paper plate Relay,” “Shoot The Ball” and believe it or not “Bring Me.” (yes, we are still young enough to play this game…it’s not just for kiddie parties!) Raffle draws also took place in between the games.

The highlight of the night was the dance number presented by the Staff. Shax!!! But hey, they did the best they could and yes, they were worthy of an applause. Clap! Clap! Clap! Kudos to the Staff! Awards were given for Best Head dress and Best Mask. Stephanie Matela and Danelle David won the award for Best Head dresses while Cyril Bunuan won for Best Mask.

The youth and the staff were so exhausted after all those games and dancing so dinner was served afterwards by Mark Ira and his ushering team. Everyone went home tired, exhausted, but most importantly, everyone had a great time! To God be the glory!
